Background:
Traxxz began DJing at the tender age of 15, playing in local youth clubs and doing various under 18 events. He then had an attempt at his own promotion in his hometown Belfast. Where he ran his own club night called The Vibe where he received good feedback from the clubbers and the club owner. He also received good feedback on his mixing and Technical ability. After his first adventure of running his own club he then met up with Gary & Emanon who are owners and promoters from Belfast who ran under 18 events throughout Belfast. They asked Traxxz to play at one of their events he was the resident DJ there for 2 years.
“This was a great experience. I was given the opportunity to play in front of 1100 young wannabe clubbers once a month and it made me get over my nerves while DJing in front of a high capacity crowd.”
In the summer of 2003 Traxxz then met Source - 2 at the Belfast in Furious Motor Show @ The Kings Hall in Belfast while he was DJing for www.cruiseni.com.
Traxxz and Source - 2 kept in touch. And just under a year ago Traxxz was asked to play at Dream @ Club Tao Bangor in February 2004 with Resident DJ Source - 2.
Traxxz then meet old friend Ruairi Carson who asked him to appear at his club night called Bit’s ‘N’ Pieces which had numerous guests DJ’s like Robbie Nelson, Eddie Wray, Tizer, DJ L.E.D and Gleeve Dobbin. Traxxz played a few main and warm up sets there. Traxxz was then given the chance to warm up for guest DJ L.E.D at the club night. He received good feedback from L.E.D about his mixing and technical skills.
“This was an opportunity not to be missed. I learnt a lot from this night.”
Not long after the club sadly closed down and Bit’s ‘N’ Pieces was no more.
Traxxz has now started a new adventure with fellow friend and DJ Gazza. Together they are the co founders of GL Promotions which is to help promote DJs and promote club nights through Ireland. Together they are planning to promote and run there own club night called Juiced and an under 18 event called Trance Fusion.
This will feature some of Irelands finest up in coming DJ talent and some class A DJ’s from Ireland and the UK.
WidandBen, who are currently signed to Tidy, expressed an interest in the Juiced club night. They have played at the Tidy weekender with class - a DJ’s such as Guyver and Tidy Boys.
