Background

Ali Wilson is one of the most exciting young artists the UK has to offer. In just under 6 years he has established himself as a producer the industry looks to for inspiration, his unique innovative approach to music shines through in every aspect. Where he leads others follow…
As versatile DJ and Producer, Ali has always defied to conform to the consensus. Finding inspiration from every corner of the musical spectrum, Ali brought a fresh approach to dance music. His sound was unique and technical ability unparallel immediately making him stand out as an artist.
At the tender age of just 18 Ali was spotted by one of the UK’s biggest promotions Frantic. He was immediately asked to appear at the world famous Camden palace to play alongside the worlds most respected DJ’s in front of thousands. Unaware of the gravity of this invitation and fuelled with air of confidence Ali stepped up to the challenge laid before him.
The media soon picked up on the hype proclaiming Mr Wilson as ‘The new BK’ and one of the TOP 5 young DJ’s to watch WORLDWIDE alongside Nic Fanculii and Montana also cementing this recognition by awarding him as a MixMag Future Hero 2003. Picking up ‘best new producer’ for the UK’s biggest club forum Harderfaster.net and DJMag honouring him as the ‘one to watch’, this was just beginning for the young man who had the belief in his own sound, and one that would define an era in dance music.
Now at only 24 years of age what Ali has achieved in such a short space of time many would consider him as an old pro. His DJ career has taken him across the world to 15 different countries in 4 different continents and with hundereds of thousands of record sales and featuring on over 40 compilations is not hard to see why the media proclaims him as a dance music sensation.
After 5 years of producing a discography that spans every major label under the sun it was time for Ali to take the next step and create a destination for his own pioneering sound…
2005 saw Ali launch the groundbreaking new label TEKELEC Records which would be the defining imprint for his new dynamic sound of Electro infused Tech-Trance. After only 7 releases the label has had an unprecedented impact with sell out releases and full support from the likes of Carl Cox (adding 5 tracks to his new CD compilations), Eddie Haliwell, Marco V, Above & Beyond, Judge Jules, Sander Van Doorn, John Askew, Andy Farley and Anne Savage it seems yet again that the ‘Golden Child’ has the midas touch!
And now in 2006 building from the successes of the previous year Ali has had the ‘Rhythm Search’ Video added to the Rapture TV playlist & was invited to follow in the footsteps of the worlds No.1 DJ Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox and SLAM to appear for an exclusive guest mix on the world famous John Askew show on KISS 100 (Kiss Mix available at www.aliwilson.co.uk). From this Ali was invited to do a guest mix for Paul Van Dyks’s website (Vonyc.com) in April & has also guested on Ministry Of Sound!
The Musical landscape has changed for Ali broading his horizons to include tech-trance into his production arsenal has proved a shrewd move. Now remixing for the likes of Gareth Emery (FiveAM), Solarstone (Deep Blue Records) & Progressive State and major interest from the Trance luminaries in his new catalogues, when the revolution comes this will be soundtrack…

“Ali Wilson has already catapulted himself to 'A' list status within the industry. Winning countless awards and accolades for his production, including the coveted "Best New Producer" at the industry-standard HarderFaster awards in 2003. Ali has been a huge part of the mainstream for some time now - so much so, that when you see the name 'Ali Wilson' on a record, you know you are instantly going to get a cutting edge, quality piece of music.” – Trackitdown.net
“Ali Wilson is a prolific one-man production machine, and so it’s fitting that he now launches his own label on which to showcase his sounds. TEKELEC touches down with an impressive two tracker, an impressive first release and undoubtedly a label to keep an eye on in the months ahead!” – Simon Eve (DJ Mag).
“It's redefining genres; it's doing something different and I like that.” – Nick Sentience – DJ Mag (referring to Ali’s remix of Mayhem in Miami)
“It's been ages since a BK production didn't dominate a hard dance 12" but would you believe it, the young pretender Ali Wilson has stolen the limelight on this occasion! He makes excellent use of the vocals and bassline from the original in a more driving remix that features his trademark techno influenced grooves and a roof-raising breakdown sequence that will cause mayhem on dance floors around
the globe. 5/5 SUREPLAYER” – Simon Eve – DJ Mag (referring to Ali’s remix of Mayhem in Miami – see article on next page)
