More: Warning is one year old and we are holding the best party yet at out new home The Annexe, Brixton (formerly Sub- South)

Warning has been pushing new talent and well established music for a year now, starting off in the George IV, moving to the MASS for a couple of parties and now our new home The Annexe. The party is going from strength to strength each time. Warning is also celebrating me the co- promoter- Darren 23rd birthday. Get the cider’s ready and the hard house!!

The club:

The Annexe has been part of the clubbing scene for a decade under various titles and held many parties for the gay scene. Now under new management we are privileged enough to be able to hold a hard house event.

The club is intimate, under ground and metally to describe it and has plenty of chill out areas and a open terrace. Photos of the club will be on harderfaster shortly. This time round we have ironed out the problems we encountered from July and we have been guaranteed the smoke machine will work, a laser will be installed more lighting and we will be opened until 6am. I put my name to it!

THE RESIDENTS

PAUL BATTEN
BROW

Paul Battenhas certainly got around in the past couple of years, playing in Ibiza, playing at Snat, INSEKT and a resident at Twist. Paul has played at all the past Warning’s and would certainly be playing at the future one’s so it was fitting for him to make another residency.

Paul has been producing whilst he and Brow have made some awesome first tracks; ‘stay on the scene’ and 'sloppy jalopy’ a fierce rolling tune, expect a couple of new tracks for this Warning. We have a very special treat to close this Warning; Paul is playing b2b with Tom Basquil. The Bexley massive are going to screw with your brains and release some fierce tune age to end the night in true Batten and Basquil style! This is going to be one hell of a set people.

Brow is our other awesome resident we are proud to have playing behind the decks. Brow has been banging out the techno, warming the nights up perfectly and is getting good responses each time. He has a wealth of knowledge and music and technical ability and his sets are always going to be unique. So on the night we will be handing out some more of his techno demo’s to send you to another dimension!

Guest DJ’s

Headlining the night is the legends of all legends in the underground NRG scene! There can only be one Karim. He has been part of the underground scene banging out tune after tune, rocking dance floors up and down the country with his trademark kick drums, marching rhythms and funky grooves he is well loved and idolised by many clubbers, he is with out question simply brilliant. We all instantly recognise his style and can distinguish a Karim tune a mile off.

Karim is the owner of his own record label Do Not Bend Recordswith classic releases such as ‘experts on pot’ and ‘kinky’ and his newer releases ‘music power’ and ‘zyclon b’ all absolute dance floor movers. He is the definition of ‘party’ in hard house so to have him play at Warning is something special and very special to me personally.

A pioneer in hard house is the mighty James Nardi who has been established in the scene for many years. A few years back there was a small party at Fire, I was addicted to going on a Saturday night, the music was quality and the line-up was amazing. Since then it has grown and not lost its quality it can only be the mega INSEKT. Now to have one of the front men of INSEKT play at Warning is a privilege.

James has an unmistakable hard rolling sound, which he blasts out across many countries; New Zealand, South Africa to name just a few. James is the one half of the legendary Aftermath. Aftermath is signed to many record labels and has track releases on Tidy. Oh and we can not forget James is also the co- owner of Killer Hurts records with many releases out now. So on the 8th September expect nothing less than a rolling, funky hard set.

Warning is about having a varied selection of DJ’s playing their individual styles from up and down the country to explode in your ears! Up north is always a good choice so we decided to bring down the fun, energetic, slightly up 4 it Matt Pickup. Matt is passionate at what he does, playing out at Cyberkitten, Parlez Vouz, Pure Filth and Frantic quite often.

He also co runs 2 successful hard dance digital labels (Hard up Digital & Hard up Funk), including some of his own production as part of the collective. He has made a great impression in the world of production with infectious tracks like ‘House Rockin’ and has tracks due to be released on vinyl called “Espionage” on Volatile NRG. “Beijing” on Deprivation and “Peer Pressure” on Nosebleed records.

The 8th September hosts DJ’s so far from Blackpool, Welling, London and now can proudly welcome a DJ from the land or leprycorns. We bring you Karl Davisall the way from Ireland. Karl owns Hardsounds record label, a hard NRG record label with great releases on such as Hardsounds 4 " All That Noise"Karl Davis & John Kerrigan, Hardsounds 5 " Real Fukin High" Karl Davis & John Kerrigan and Hardsounds 8 "Fry Up" Karl Davis ,John Kerrigan wmd. If you want some hard beats this is a label to go for.

Karl’s sound is going to grip you on the night with his rolling hard house/NRG. Expect to here some of his new material and will certainly leave you crying out for more.

Next we have our old mucker back Irish Danny returning to warm up the night at The Annexe. ID is coming back to get the night started in true Danny madness- well not 2 mad he is warming up. Danny has played at past Warning’s and is an extremely talented guy loving the up beat, classic sounds. Bring it on Danny!

And finally we have Tom Basquil down again but this time playing b2b with Paul Batten. Tom is the ultimate set closer, pure filth and lets loose. He is now firmly fixed in the Hard House scene and has played at INSEKT.

Tom has made tunes such as the quality ‘Penny drop’ and ‘distorted reality’ ‘hostile bitch’ and ‘rock dat shit’ with Steve Maynard and WMD. So be prepared for Tom and Paul to completely smash it and rob the trainers of your feet! I can truly say can not wait for this back 2 back.

Now with the DJ’s sorted and the venue organised, the only thing left is you, the clubbers. Warning is at its new home The Annexe in Brixton and we are going to decorate it with Warning’s unique décor, install a laser and to celebrate both birthdays there is going to be champagne at the start of the night. We are anticipating a hell of a night a great friendly atmosphere and banging music from start to finish through the clubs amazing sound system.

Tickets are available from www.moreonthedoor.com at £10 and this time round you will get an exclusive Matt Pickup demo. Tickets are £12 on the door b4 12, £15 after. For any more information about Warning, contact Darren or Jazz at the wk/ends or contact us via email or telephone. Warning is also on www.myspace.com/warningevents so check it out.

And remember Twist is the after party to continue Warning's birthday celebrations!
