Not including the humungous Gallery NYE spectacular at the Brixton Academy with those hard-dance loving Heat fellas, the Turnmills shindig on Friday 30th December will be the final Gallery event of 2005 and to make sure the night goes off with a bang, all Gallery Members can come and dance for FREE (entry all night). Woo-hoo. The Guest admission price is also considerably less too, saving everyone a few quid with NYE looming round the corner (Guests £5 before 12am / £8 thereafter).
The entry price might be cheaper than normal, but that doesn’t mean that the quality will suffer as a result. Oh no captain. Keeping in theme with the forthcoming Gallery covermount CD (M8 Magazine, January 2006 issue), the line-up features some of the DJs who The Gallery are tipping for big things next year – Sander Van Doorn, Chris Davies, Gavyn Mytchel and John Askew. All 4 DJs have contributed tracks to the M8 CD (mixed live at The Gallery by super resident Mr Mytchel) and all 4 DJs back that up with a brilliant back catalogue of dancefloor anthems which has boosted their claims to be some of the trance scene’s hottest properties of the moment. Dutchman Sander Van Doorn has in particular had quite an exceptional year and he returns for his 4th outing of 2005, having made his UK Debut at The Gallery back in August. He looks set to follow in the footsteps of fellow countryman Ferry Corsten and Armin Van Buuren right to the very top, so you’d better watch out as he tears open another can of trance whoop-ass. Irishman Chris Davies is another man to keep a firm eye on next year, as are The Gallery’s Gavyn Mytchel & John Askew who continue to light up dancefloors all over the globe.
The Vaccine resident DJs (The Viceroy & Ben Beaton) takeover the night’s hands-in-the-air finale having impressed at Turnmills throughout the year with their storming midweek trance party. The Gallery also give a well deserved debut to Craig Gunn - who was crowned Gallery DJ Competition Winner 2005 a few months ago, having beaten off the challenge of the hundred’s of entrants into this year’s search for the DJ of tomorrow. With the main room is full flow, the backroom is left to hot London promoters Solid Kiss, who’ll be taking the beats down a more tech-house and tribal route with star pupil Moni leading the way, alongside budding jocks DJ Evolve, Smokingroove, Hemlock and DJ Nonstop.
