With Exclusive 3 hour sets from two of the acknowledged best House DJs in the world, Derrick Carter, and Karizma and Sambatralia in Egg's amazing Garden space, helmed by Live samba maestros, Sambatralia, Bodymove's NYE White & Gold Rio Revellion promises a 14 hour marathon of roof-raising hedonism.
One of the pinnacles of Chicago house music's '90s wave, Derrick Carter began DJ'ing at the age of nine, spinning disco records at family reunions. Born and raised in the western suburbs, Carter was into music from a young age, but during his teens Chicago's house scene sucked him in for good. Before long Carter became a strong presence in the city's underground dance scene. "When I got my driver's license at 16 my sneak ability was validated," he laughs. "I was a fierce bedroom jock for a long time. After you mix for the love of it for six or seven years, you get it pretty tight and you can take it on the road." He got by working at dance-music specialty stores like Gramaphone and gigging at parties.
Chris "Karizma" Clayton is self diagnosed as "a.d.d. with music," and has always aspired to be a producer who "keeps changing and moving on to different things for the challenge." He released his debut full-length, ‘A Mind of Its Own', for the R2 label, as well as mix CDs for notable house labels. NRK and Soul Heaven. Karizma Remixes have appeared on a brilliant spectrum of labels, including Defected, Yoruba, Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, and Raw Fusion.
They will be joined by Defected's hot UK duo, Audiowhores, also favourites at Bodymove events and known for their explosive house quaking sounds and ability to raise the roof.
