Bubbles 1st Birthday @ Belushi’s

I have never witnessed the madness of Bubbles before yesterday and I have to say that I’m sorry I didn’t. Firstly the venue is/was wicked; you go down a flight of stairs into a slim but long room, with lots of cosy chill out seats dotted about the place. They have an intimate dance floor slap bang in front of the DJ booth and the bar is located at the opposite end of the venue which I where my night began.
Now as I began to neck various dodgy cheap shots like a lager lout in Kavos, I watched the venue slowly creeping up to capacity and thankfully with it the air conditioning. This was the biggest plus point about the venue, great air con, as we are all aware of the regularity of over heating in various better known venues I was truly appreciative of this there and then. Sadly the biggest let down of the night was the sound system, which was good in its own right but the fact that it kept tripping out because of the venue’s less than quality mixer was not really a good thing for the clubbers or DJs alike. Thankfully Bronson Vieira’s own household mixer ended up being installed which solved this little problem. Then much to my own horror let alone the poor DJ’s I was to discover the venue had removed the monitor speakers before the start of the night. Now I know this was Bubble’s last party at the venue but to take away the DJ’s monitors is being just a little bit arsey! Still the vibe was fantastic the crowd understanding and the DJ’s even more impressive for it.
The vibe was one thing that did strike you about Bubbles, everyone was up for it and it wasn’t so much an event but a party. Watching Bronson bowl about the place in a funky blue wig was most amusing and fair play to him, it was his and DJ Cosmic’s birthdays. With Marc-E they formed 3rd kind, and together they formed a fantastic set, blowing away the crowd with a selection of storming hard trance. Just before them we had the soon to be legendary Marc French who’s popularity seems to be growing set by set now. Other legend of the evening was HarderFaster’s own Tom Allen the man behind the worlds most addictive clubbing site once again showed his passions behind the decks to a most appreciative audience. Finally Matt Clarke and Steve Blake graced the 1210’s and slammed some of the most banging and up for it hard trance I have heard for a while. Good Stuff.
So happy birthday Bubbles, Bronson and Cosmic and thank you all for putting on a pukka party! Looking forward to the next one
