Future Jungle, today. God you lot are spoilt.
This is the first release on Billy ‘Daniel’ Bunters new label Music Monday which is named after his award winning Radio Show on Kool London.
So with an original and 4 mixes, let’s see what we have here then.
Billy Daniel Bunter & Sanxion meet $pyda - Jump Around (Original Mix)
The Original Mix has Rave Breaks galore and lashings of Old Skool sounds, a few reminiscent from the Speed Garage era as well as more modern grime style sounds. A huge Ragga Vocal, as if it needed it, gives more energy to proceedings. Quality.
Billy Daniel Bunter & Sanxion meet $pyda - Jump Around (Cotton Mouth Mix)
This takes all the elements of the original and Dub Steps the hell out of them. Also has quite a, God help me, Complextro vibe about it. Not bad.
Billy Daniel Bunter & Sanxion meet $pyda - Jump Around (Garage Teng Mix)
Speed Garage for the Teenies (or whatever the hell we're calling this current decade). Aptly named now as well because it has a bit of pace to it. Again awash with Old Skool sounds and stylings.
Billy Daniel Bunter & Sanxion meet $pyda - Jump Around (RadioKillaZ Remix)
More Break Beat than Future Jungle and this has that Old Skool Hardcore (think Some Justice not Toytown) feel about it at certain times and this can only be a good thing.
Billy Daniel Bunter & Sanxion meet $pyda - Jump Around (Scott Garcia Remix)
This mix is the slowest and is also quite minimal. This has a nice breaky feel to it with fewer elements of the track carrying it along.
Well 5 mixes to keep you happy. For me a dub version would be ideal but then that is missing the point of having a Ragga vocalist on the track.
The original is versatile enough that it will slip into Tech Dance sets to mix things up, you could probably play the RadioKillaZ mix in and Old Skool set and people would just think it was an obscure classic). Anyway I’ll certainly be dropping this one.
