Forthcoming on Sol Creation, the latest Kuya Sessions album receives an upgrade in the form of Sol Remixed. As with the previous four collections, Sol contains numerous remixes of the original album. The previous four are out now and their original versions are also available. Anyway...
We have eleven remixes on here; ranging from slow organic house to lush electronic soundscapes. CALAGNA, Desert Dwellers, Akriza, bode and OZemljen all provide alternate visions of Sol's three tracks; each taking them in different directions. The Desert Dwellers mix of Igniting The Sacred is the best remix they've done in a while. And they've done quite a few stellar remixes; not least their remix of Shpongle's Juggling Molecules. OZemljen drops a truly epic 18 minute interpretation of The Great Turning as does Dr Parnassus, who stretches out his remix to 19 minutes.
Elsewhere, CALAGNA drops a remix of The Great Turning and Jungle Kitchen and David Starfire launch remixes of Liminal Sun into the stratosphere. This remix album truly does change the Kuya Sessions Remixed franchise and moves it away from the truly expansive original to a more upbeat, more melancholic, interpretation.
My fave remixes on here are the Desert Dwellers remix of Igniting The Sacred and OZemljen's truly majestic mix of The Great Turning. This album is out on September 27th on Sol Creation Records.
